Shorts sit differently depending on inseam, even at the exact same waist — so this guide comes before anything else on the page, same as it does on our jeans. Pick your length first, based on how you actually want it to sit, then match your waist to the table below.
5" Above-Knee
Shortest cut in the collection. Best for warmer climates or an athletic, streetwear-leaning silhouette.
7" Knee-Length
Our most popular length — sits right at or just above the knee. The safest choice if you're ordering your first pair.
9" Below-Knee
Longer cut for a more relaxed, covered silhouette. Works well layered with taller socks or sneakers.

Waist is measured flat across the internal elastic band, relaxed rather than stretched — actual fit range extends slightly beyond the number shown thanks to the drawstring waist.
Elastic & Drawstring Fit
Because the waistband has built-in stretch, most people are comfortable sizing to their true waist rather than sizing up — the drawstring handles small differences in fit day to day.

If you're not sure, 7" Knee-Length is the safest starting point — it's our best seller across every motif and works for both casual and athletic wear.

Embroidering denim isn't like embroidering satin.
Denim's weight and weave require a reinforced backing stabilizer behind the fabric so the stitches sit flat instead of puckering the material — a completely different setup on our embroidery floor than the satin we use for jackets. It runs slower, which is part of why our denim motifs are typically placed at the back pocket and lower leg rather than covering the full garment.

Why we built embroidered shorts.
Warm-weather streetwear is usually where embroidery gets skipped in favor of a cheaper print — lighter fabric, lower price point, less scrutiny. We didn't want that trade-off. Every pair of shorts in this collection carries the same hand chain-stitch embroidery as our jackets, just placed at the leg or back pocket rather than covering the full garment.
Built on heavyweight cotton twill rather than a thin poly blend, these are meant to hold their shape and color through a full season of regular wear, not just look good for the first few washes.

Common questions.
What inseam lengths are available?
Three lengths: 5-inch (above-knee), 7-inch (knee-length), and 9-inch (below-knee). Each motif is offered across all three where stock allows.
Is the embroidery on the shorts hand-stitched or printed?
Hand chain-stitched, same as every other Sukajo product. We don't print or heat-press any motif on our shorts.
Do the shorts have an elastic waist or a belt?
Both — an internal elastic waistband with a drawstring, plus belt loops if you want to wear one. Side pockets and a single back pocket are included.
Do the shorts run true to size?
Yes, true to waist size. Check the waist and inseam table since the three lengths sit differently even at the same waist size.
